Hard Surface Modeling

When discussing 3D modeling, most models will fall under one of two categories: organic and hard surface. A hard surface model is anything machined or man-made. For example, a chair or a desk or a laptop would be considered a hard surface object. Hard surface objects tend to have sharp edges and an angular shape.
